Genre-bending bass musicians Sub Swara put out one of 2008’s most exciting albums with Coup d’Yah. Now they’re returning with their sophomore LP Triggers and are offering a free download of its first single “Bend You.”

Out on Low Motion Records, Triggers hits stores on November 9th. The album is said to include traces of dub step, hip-hop and “sounds yet to be classified” to create a dancefloor-like energy. Triggers also features collaborations with Dead Prez Lyrics Born, Kendra Foster of Parliament Funkadelic, Freddie Mills, Antibalas and a host of “master session musicians from around the world.”

The band has also made strides in its live show, moving away from its typical DJ set toward a more performance-oriented concert that includes live drumming and improvised sequences throughout the show. And, since the band is touring extensively behind Triggers, you have a good chance of catching them live.
