By all indications, DJ Z-Trip is busy, what with his ongoing Las Vegas residency and all. But he managed to find time recently to do two pretty diverse things – remix a Tupac song and contribute exclusive content to the upcoming video game DJ Hero 2.
Tupac would have turned 39 last month, and to celebrate his birthday, Z-Trip remixed the rap great’s well-known posthumous hit “Better Dayz” with Marvin Gaye’s “Inner City Blues” to create the “Better Dayz (Make Me Wanna Holler Remix).” According to the artist, Afeni Shakur, Tupac’s mother, requested Z-Trip create the track as a conversation between the artists. Z-Trip was also immortalized in Activision’s 2009 hit DJ Hero as a playable character, and he contributed three exclusive tracks to the game as well. Now, with DJ Hero 2 set for release Tuesday, October 19th, the famous DJ has announced he’s also contributed exclusive content to the game, though it’s not clear what content that is. Z-Trip was on hand at this year’s E3 to help announce the game to the video game fans in attendance and perform with Usher, Jane’s Addiction, Rhianna and Eminem at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
In addition, Z-Trip has some tour dates lined up. Z-Trip’s tour dates are as follows:
