John Cale, with the help of Death Cab For Cutie‘s Ben Gibbard and Queens of the Stone Age collaborator Mark Lanegan, will all come together tonight at UCLA’s Royce Hall to perform Paris 1919, Cale’s 1973 classic. This marks the first in-country performance of Paris 1919.
The three musicians will also be teaming up with UCLA’s orchestra to reproduce the 1973 classic. The first half of the show will be devoted to the album. The second half however, Cale ensures, will be much more rock-and-roll oriented, possibly with new songs added to the set.
Following the show, selected guests are invited to an after-party featuring complimentary wine and desserts, as well as the opportunity to talk and mingle with the musicians.
