Alt-rockers Urge Overkill haven’t released an album since 1995’s Exit the Dragon, but that may change very soon as the band has announced an official reunion – and released a new song to prove it.
The reformed band, which is currently writing and recording a new album in their hometown of Chicago, is made up of original singer/guitarists Nash Kato and Eddie “King” Roeser, along with drummer Brian “Bon” Quast and bassist Mike “Hadji” Hogkiss.
Perhaps best known for their cover of Neil Diamond’s “Girl, You’ll Be A Woman Soon” when it was featured in the Quentin Tarantino film “Pulp Fiction,” the group will play at the Samuel L. Jackson-hosted Friar’s Club Roast of Tarantino on October 1. The band also has a show scheduled for October 4th at New York City’s Mercury Lounge. Tickets are available here.
And, the pièce de résistance: new music! The band has released a new track titled “Effigy,” which you can download below!
