Irish folk rock group The Frames have announced a select number of North American live dates celebrating the band’s twentieth anniversary. More after the jump.
The Frames were last seen in 2006 when they were out in support of their sixth full-length, The Coast. Frontman and Academy Award winner Glen Hansard has been busy with his side project The Swell Season since that time, but is ready to get back to performing with The Frames.
“With The Frames, it’s the throwing your arms around the room thing. When our gigs are at their best, you throw the energy out and it gets thrown back twice the size. If you trust in the moment, if you’re willing to be the fool and make the mistake and get it wrong, then you’ve great potential to get it absolutely right. And I think that can be the scary thing about a Frames gig and the great thing about a Frames gig.” -Glen Hansard
A portion of the proceeds from The Frames Twentieth Anniversary Tour will benefit the (RED) Global Fund which is the world’s leading financer of programs to fight AIDS, TB and malaria.
