Last week we reported that Spin Magazine would be hosting series of concerts in New York to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Now more details have emerged about the final night’s concert – a performance by Spiritualized of its 1997 classic Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space.The performance, which goes down July 30th at Radio City Music Hall, will follow similar shows in the UK, featuring the Spiritualized live band plus a choir, 8 piece string section and horns.
The show will be the only North American show and the last performance of its kind.
The band’s live show has been getting rave reviews. Spin itself called the staging of the album at the UK’s recent All Tomorrow’s Parties “a space-rock masterpiece.” The Independent newspaper raved “Spiritualized are an event…It’s massive: a wall of devotional sound blowing a capacity crowd practically off its feet.”
