Metal Band Sleep Announces U.S. Live Performances

Stoner rock band Sleep went on hiatus in the late 90’s, and save for a scattered few shows have stayed that way. That’s about to change with the announcement of a small U.S. tour to take place this September.The band, which Rolling Stone has called “legendary…stoner rock pioneers,” will play seven shows on this fall’s mini-tour, which manages to take the band across the entire country.

A special performance at All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival will include the band playing its classic album Sleep’s Holy Mountain in its entirety.

Sleep’s tour dates are the following:

9/3 – Monticello, NY – As part of the 2010 All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival (w/ Iggy and the Stooges, Mudhoney, Sonic Youth, etc.)
9/7 – Philadelphia, PA – Starlight Ballroom
9/8 – Brooklyn, NY – Brooklyn Masonic Temple (w/ Lichens)
9/9 – Chicago, IL – Logan Square Auditorium (w/ Lichens)
9/10 – Austin, TX – Mohawk (w/ Sub Oslo)
9/11 – Portland, OR – Roseland Theater (*As part of Music Fest NW w/ Scott Kelly, YOB, etc.)
9/12 – San Francisco, CA – Regency Ballroom
