Austin-based psychedelic rockers The Black Angels have announced the release of their third studio album, Phosphene Dream, on Blue Horizon Records. More info after the jump.
Set to drop on Sept 14th in the US and Sept. 13th in the UK, the album promises a fresh new take on the unique neo-Psychedelic sound they’ve cultivated through years of touring. The album will also be supported by a planned tour at the end of the summer. Details are forthcoming, but they’re expected to hit the Reading and Leeds festivals in the UK, Rock en Seine in Paris, and the Jim Jarmusch curated stage at ATP in NYC.
This is especially big news because this marks the first release from Blue Horizon–known for discovering bands like Fleetwood Mac and Chickenshack in the 60’s and 70’s–since its revival was announced by Richard Gottehrer, co-founder of The Orchard and Seymour Stein, CEO of Sire Records.
