The Flaming Lips visit Cornell University

On a cool April Sunday in Ithaca, New York, Cornell University’s Barton Hall was packed to the brim with the young and old, all awaiting the Flaming Lips. The Lips have a reputation for putting on exceptional live shows, and this was no exception.

Wayne Coyne began the show in his famous bubble and greeted concert goers as he walked on top of them. The energy started high and never wavered through the entire set. They played a set heavy on tunes from Embryonic, but threw in various gems from their long career. The opening band, Stardeath and White Dwarfs sounded much like a crossover of The Lips & MGMT.
If you are given an opportunity to see The Flaming Lips, do it. It’s an event to be remembered. You can thank me later.
