British singer Martina Topley Bird (Independiente) is busy. Not only will she be opening for Massive Attack on their U.S. tour this May, but she’s also recording in Damon Albarn’s studio.
The singer, who came to fame in the mid-90’s by putting her voice on Tricky‘s trip-hop hits, has already been touring with Massive Attack around the world, and will continue to do throughout May. Following her performance at a Massive Attack show in London, Blur’s Damon Albarn was so impressed that he offered not only to record her live studio album in his ownb personal studio, but also to release it on his record label, Honest Jon’s. The album will be available in July.
