Early hip-hop kings De La Soul took to the Coachella stage in the midst of the most brutal part of the afternoon sun. Undaunted by the atmosphere the group worked hard to win over the crowd telling one half they were “hip-hop” and the other half that they were “music.” Through most of the set they were backed by a full band they took a moment to do an early cut with only DJ accompaniment.
