Owen Pallett got things rolling at the Outdoor Theatre on the final day of Coachella (thanking fans for coming to see him and jokingly referring to it as “the gay ghetto” on account his inclusion on it along with Bradford Cox of Deerhunter) with a sweet and simple rendering of his indie folk. Pallett–for some years titled as Final Fantasy before being threatened with legal action–strummed with finesse on violin as his sole accompaniment followed closely along melodically. Humorous to note, Pallett seemed in high spirits thanking the crowd for attending his set and laughed dorkishly in a tone that sounded a lot like Elmer Fudd.
