Boasting a line that rivaled the one that Metallica had last year at SXSW, the long-rumored–and ultimately real–performance from Muse was about to happen. The band’s lead singer Matt Bellamy appeared on stage as if he materialized out of thin air. With that, the band wasted no words and jumped right into recent single “The Uprising.” “The Resistance” and “Supermassive Black Hole” soon followed with the crowd chanting and fist-pumping along. The serene “Starlight” added longing beauty to the affair as Bellamy sweetly sang, “I just wanted to hold / you in my arms.” “Time is Running Out” ended out the set proper, and the band closed with the most epic song in their canon, the cathartic rampage that is “Knights of Cydonia.”
