Gordon Gano and The Ryan Brothers – Galaxy Room/Paste Party

As the Violent Femmes have been on a hiatus for a good while, their status somewhat nebulous, Gordon Gano has a new outing titled Gordon Gano and the Ryan Brothers. While Gano plays a softly plucked violin, the Ryan brothers back him up on accordion and mandolin. This was utter folksy fun, as Gano’s hight-pitched voice enraptured a far too small crowd. Gano thanked a dancing fan and then played his former band’s “American music.”
