Imaad Wasif, the Canadian-born, Palm Springs-raised, Los Angeles-based, ethnically-Indian guitarist and singer, was home, in a sense, as he took the stage at Silver Lake’s Spaceland on February 18th, for the last of three concerts at the venue. Backed by Two Part Beast, his mystical music was infused with rock star flair, including balancing his guitar on his feet while lying onstage and playfully fashioning his bandmate’s bracelet into a headband. Simple and inexplicable, lulling and fervent, the set was, as he describes his music, a blast of post-modern psychedelic rock. With his “residency” over at Spaceland, Imaad is bringing his unique alt rock on the road. He will be touring until April 25. For dates, visit www.teepeerecords.com.
