Iggy Pop Added to Tibet House US Benefit Concert

Godfather of punk Iggy Pop has been added to the list of performers for the 20th annual Tibet House US Benefit Concert, to be held at Carnegie Hall on February 26. The concert, which commemorates the Monlam Prayer Festival traditionally held at the time of the Tibetan New Year, will also feature performances from Gogol Bordello, Patti Smith with Jesse Smith, Philip Glass, Regina Spektor and more.

The fundraiser supports the work of Tibet House US, a non-profit organization founded in 1987 that serves to preserve Tibetan culture. In the past, the concert has featured performances from artists as varied as David Bowie, Bright Eyes, Ray Davies and The National.
