The Rakes released their newest album, Klang, in March but now they are releasing it for digital download on October 20. Klang, the band’s third studio album, has gotten critical acclaim for their change in sound and taking their music into a completely different direction.
By recording their album in Berlin, the British band felt like a move would profoundly change their direction. In an interview with Magnum PR, singer Alan Donahue said, “The London music scene is so dull right now – it’s like wading through a swamp of shit. We just wanted to be somewhere more inspiring. Someone suggested Berlin. It didn’t take long for everyone to agree, we packed our bags and moved here just like that.”
A few weeks after their digital release, The Rakes are going on tour in the US to promote their new record. Check out The Rakes website for more details.
