In 2005, World War I veteran Henry Patch gave a memorable interview to Today reporter Mike Thomson. Inspired by Patch’s words, Radiohead‘s vocalist Thom Yorke wrote tribute to the veteran. Patch fought at the battle of Passchendaele in 1917 and will be buried tomorrow. The song can be downloaded from the Radiohead website and all profits will go to the Royal British Legion.
