Modest Mouse’s Music Shows Heath Ledger’s Vision

Modest Mouse released a new animated video of the track, “King Rat” which displays one of the final projects of the late actor Heath Ledger. Ledger, who died on January 8th, 2008, created the concept of the music video with the lead singer of Modest Mouse, Isaac Brock, back in 2007. The motivation was to bring awareness to illegal commercial whaling practices. Although, Ledger did not live to complete it, the band Modest Mouse and Ledger’s company, The Masses, finished it in his honor. The animated video for “King Rat” can be seen After the jump.

It will be released on iTunes on August 7th, 2009. Proceeds from the first month of iTunes downloads will be donated to Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, a non-profit marine wildlife conservation organization. More information at Sea Shepherd.
