The Grammy Museum and American Express will be giving honor to an icon by hosting “An Evening With Smokey Robinson“. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee is set to give an intimate performance, audience Q and A, and an exclusive interview at the Sound Stage of The Grammy Museum on August 24, the day before his new LP Time Flies When You’re Having Fun (Robso Records) is set to be released.
“Smokey Robinson is one of the most beloved and influential figures in the history of recorded music”,
said Executive Director Robert Santelli, who will conduct the interview. “The Grammy Museum is honored to welcome him to our Sound Stage”.
Robinson’s new release Time Flies… is his follow-up to 2006’s Timeless Love (Universal Records). The album features guest appearances by Carlos Santana, India.Arie, and a surprising cover of Norah Jones’ “Don’t Know Why”, which is set to be the first single.
