Originally screened at Sundance 2009, the Fox Searchlight anti-romantic comedy (500) Days of Summer has now brought out a a deluxe edition soundtrack exclusively to iTunes this July 28th, 2009. The digital-only version features star Zooey Deschanel singing “Sugar Town” (the Nancy Sinatra/Lee Hazelwood classic) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt singing “Here Comes Your Man.” According to their press release, The New York Observer refers to it as “an infectious nostalgia-baiting soundtrack with the Smiths, Belle and Sebastian, and Regina Spektor.”
