It’s always nice when something or someone great wants to blow its own trumpet. Luckily for society, Warp Records fall squarely in that class and are refusing to keep quiet about 2009 marking 20 years of its existence. Not only are they celebrating with a rather gorgeous box set, but they will also go out into the world for a series of shows and film screenings showing off all that is great about Warp.
Tonight (July 22) there’s going to be a kickoff party presented by Wordless Music Series and Le Poisson Rouge featuring the 20+-strong Alarm Will Sound displaying their take on classics by Aphex Twin and Autechre as well as a DJ set from Nic Offer of !!!.
