Kyp Malone may currently be known as the bushy-bearded half of the one-two guitar punch in TV on the Radio, but that’s not stopping him from doing a bit of pro bono work. Set for release on September 22, his solo debut Rain Machine will hit shelves.
The album is said, via press release, to mix elements of modern jazz, bluegrass and guitar-driven rock and roll into a unique sound as well as prove Malone to be a delightfully unpredictable musical force emerging into his own as an artist. Malone himself describes the album as “a nearly full spectrum of frequencies audible to the human ear, a reflection of a variety of emotions and situations real and imagined – some rhythm some rhyme.”
The tracklisting for Rain Machine is as follows:
New Last Name
Smiling Black Faces
Hold you Holy
Love Won’t Save You
Leave the Lights On
