Soulsavers aka British production duo Rich Machin and Ian Glover have enlisted Jason Pierce of Spiritualized, Mike Patton of Faith No More, and Richard Hawley and Gibby Haynes of Butthole Surfers for their third album. Lead vocals were performed by the same man as on Soulsaver’s 2007 album, It’s Not How Far You Fall, It’s The Way You Land, Mark Lanegan of Screaming Trees who also co-wrote most of the new album. On the new album, Pierce duets with Lanegan on “Pharaoh’s Chariot,” Hawley provides backing vocals on “Shadows Fall,” Patton appears on “Unbalanced Pieces” and Haynes appears on “Death Bells”. A seven-inch single of “Sunrise,” written by Lanegan and sung by Will Oldham aka Bonnie Prince Billy, will be released before the new album.
