Pearl Jam’s Target Partnership

Pearl Jam is set to release their upcoming album, with the rumored name Backspacer, in the fall in partnership with Target stores, in addition to a number of other retailers, but without a U.S. label. The new album will be released internationally via Universal Music Group, however.

Kelly Curtis, the band’s manager, revealed that with the deals being discussed, they will be able to “take care of all levels of the Pearl Jam” fans and that “Target was cool enough to realize that little independent record stores are not their competition.” The album will also be available through Pearl Jam’s fan club, Ten Club. The first official single will be released in July most likely.
