Pearl Jam is set to release their upcoming album, with the rumored name Backspacer, in the fall in partnership with Target stores, in addition to a number of other retailers, but without a U.S. label. The new album will be released internationally via Universal Music Group, however.
Kelly Curtis, the bandâ€™s manager, revealed that with the deals being discussed, they will be able to â€œtake care of all levels of the Pearl Jamâ€ fans and that â€œTarget was cool enough to realize that little independent record stores are not their competition.â€ The album will also be available through Pearl Jamâ€™s fan club, Ten Club. The first official single will be released in July most likely.
