May 19, 2009 is the radio premiere of “New Divide,” the theme song written and recorded by Linkin Park for the movie, Transformers: Revenge of the Fall coming to theaters June 24th. Thanks to iTunes special Monday promotion, the song can be streamed on iTunes for a limited time only at http://linkinpark.com/newdivide. A trailer of the movie, including some footage of the band recording this song can be seen on myspace. Linkin Park will also be contributing to the film’s score with award-winning composer Steve Jablonsky, and the score’s executive producer, Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer.
This is Linkin Park’s second project with Bay. The other being the song “What I’ve Done” for the first Transformers film rocketed to No. 1 on both Billboard’s Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks and Hot Modern Rock Tracks charts. “New Divide” will appear on the Warner Bros. Records soundtrack album which arrives in stores June 23.
