Martin Scorsese Set To Bring Sinatra To The Big Screen

Universal Pictures has just announced that Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese will direct the biopic of the entertainment legend Frank Sinatra. The movie of the iconic singer and film star has yet to begin casting, and will be excutive produced by Frank Sintra’s daughter, Tina Sinatra. Universal secured the life story and rights to the music from Frank Sinatra Enterprises, and bought the film project from Peter Guber’s Mandalay Pictures.

The Oscar-winning actor, began recording in 1939 and died in 1998 of a heart attack at the age 82. The “My Way” singer performed on more than 1,400 recordings and has been 58 films. Tina Sinatra spoke highly of her father’s admiration, and expressed the pleasing decision of Scorsese as director in a statement she released one day before the anniversary of Sinatra’s death.billboard.biz
