The 2009 Capital Hill Block Party celebrating independent music will be hosted this July 24th and 25th in Seattle, Washington. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 1, 2009. Bands include Sonic Youth, The Jesus Lizard, The Gossip, Deerhunter, Black Lips, Earth, The Thermals, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Moondoggies, with over 40 bands total on 3 stages, featuring Northwest artists, especially indie and underground rock. John Richards – KEXP Morning Show Host says, “There is no other local event that truly brings the Seattle music community together…” It remains one of the cheapest festivals with early bird tickets (available May 1 – 15, 2009) priced at $40 for both days or $22 for one day. Tickets can be purchased at www.ticketswest.com. Partial profits will be contributed to non-profits Home Alive and The Vera Project.
