Coachella 2009 – White Lies

White Lies, brand new rising stars heralded in the UK press, played smooth brit rock much in the vein of Glasvegas, opting for a mid-tempo feel through the duration, the band’s lead singer howled with the subtle syrupy inflections that made Morrissey famous. Surprising (and somewhat telling of the state of having the festival start on Friday) the crowd was half what buzz bands have had in similar time slots in years earlier.
