Pearl Jam has just announced that they are re-releasing their multi-platinum debut album, Ten, on March 24, 2009. Ten, which was originally released on August 21, 1991, sold 12 million units and became one of the top selling alternative rock albums of all time.
The re-released packages come in 4 editions: Legacy, Deluxe, Vinyl and Super Deluxe. Each edition includes the original album, but the Deluxe and Super Deluxe also include a previously unreleased MTV Unplugged DVD with unseen performances.
The re-released versions have producer Brendan O’Brien digitally re-mastering and remixing some of Pearl Jam’s most acclaimed tracks, such as “Jeremy,” “Even Flow” and “Alive.” O’Brien, who has produced albums for Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Stone Temple Pilots, ACDC and Rage Against the Machine, has worked on six of Pearl Jam’s eight studio albums between 1991 and 2008.
Although all four editions won’t be available until March, the Super Deluxe edition, which also includes vinyls and a cassette, is now available for pre-order on pearljam.com.
