Masters Of Reality’s sixth studio album, Pine/Cross Dover, is tentatively to be released on August 28 via Brownhouse/Mascot Records. For this latest effort, Chris Goss, the leader (vocals and guitars) of Masters Of Reality, has addressed his songwriting from a new perspective. The drum work of John Leamy leads the way and there are no acoustic guitars. There is, on the other hand, help from many names within the Queens Of The Stone Age family. These include, to name a few, Eagles Of Death Metal bassist Brian “Big Hands” O’Connor, guitarist Dave Catching, and former QOTSA guitarist Brendon McNichol. The recording process is reported to have been very focused: during the sessions, Goss actually lived at the Hacienda in North Hollywood where the recording took place.
Other projects that have Goss’ prospective input are Goon Moon, with Twiggy Ramirez, and the 5:15ers, with QOTSA’s Josh Homme.http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003824358
