Live Nation, who’s efforts have primarily involved rock and country, is breaking into hip-hop. Jay-Z, who will be parting from his long time relationship with Def Jam, is expected to accept a $150 million package from Live Nation, this week. The deal, larger and more comprehensive than pacts made with Madonna and U2, is the most expansive from Live Nation yet; it includes financing for Jay-Z’s entertainment venture as well as recordings and tours for the next decade.http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/03/arts/music/03jayz.html?_r=2&hp&oref=slogin&oref=slogin
