On July 10, 2007, Marcus Congleton (founder, lead singer, guitarist and songwriter of Ambulance Ltd) said via his website, “Ambulance has suffered some unwelcome reality doses in the past couple of years. Many songs have been written and recorded but legal battles, interpersonal dramas, and spiritual meltdowns have stilted our sophomore effort. If there’s ever a VH1: Behind The Music that’s really good but not massively popular I think our saga would be perfect. But the good news is we’re back with a bag of new songs and a damn good record is beginning to take shape. I am delighted to be returning to the Stage.”
That being said, Ambulance LTD. will be headlining its first shows since December 2005. Wild Light and Bear Hands will be in support.
It’ll only be 6 shows in the following places:
4/2 – Middle East Downstairs – Cambridge, MA
4/4 – Maxwell’s – Hoboken, NJ
4/5 – North Star Bar – Philadelphia, PA
4/6 – Club Cafe Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
4/7 – Rock and Roll Hotel – Washington, D.C.
4/11 – Mercury Lounge – New York City, NY
Unfortunately, this doesn’t exactly signal a soon-ish release of a follow-up album to 2004’s acclaimed LP. Due to TVT’s Financial Woes, Ambulance LTD is owed money and the release in stasis. However, the band will bring the new material on the road with them.
