In a deal to see Amazon become the first online retailer to offer DRM-free mp3 downloads of the four major record labels, Sony BMG has finally hopped on the no-copy-protection bandwagon.
This transaction happens on the heels of an announcement of CD sales being down 15% in 2007. Even though digital sales are on the rise, the revenue shortfall isn’t being made up.
