Vocalist/violinist Petra Haden played at The Stone in NYC on January 2 singing a-cappella and utilizing a “loop station.” The result is PetraTronics! Yuka Honda (of Cibbo Matto fame) provided backup and additional electronics. Haden will be playing The Stone, again, January 12 in collaboration with avant-vocalist legend Laurie Anderson. On January 28, Haden will perform another solo PetraTronics show at The Troubador in Los Angeles. Finally, on February 28th, Petra perform at The Knitting Factory in NYC with her a capella choir The Sellouts.
Haden is working on a follow up to Petra Haden Sings: The Who Sell Out. The effort is reported to be an album of a capella renditions of her favorite film themes.
