Artists Bloc Party, the Shins, and Bright Eyes, have announced plans to produce a currently untitled series of compilation discs, similar to chart-topping dance assemblage “Now That’s What I Call Music”. Other artists tapped for contributions include Air, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and M. Ward, Ted Leo, Cat Power, and Silversun Pickups.
So far, the series is planning to release Volume 1 via Vice this summer, while Volumes 2 and 3 are tentatively slated to arrive later this year from Matador and Sub Pop. The advertisement focus is going to be primarily in Wal-Marts, big box stores, and TV advertising.http://www.spin.com/features/news/2007/04/070409_now/
