This week the Polyphonic Spree announced their plans to partner with TVT to release The Fragile Army, the band’s third effort, due sometime this June. The band plans notable changes for their look with this cd, shedding their infamous robes for a more streamlined sort of look, meaning “militaristic with peace symbols†according to the bands press release. The album is noted to be a collection of sonic blasts mixed with The Polyphonic Spree’s trademark sound: blending brass, strings, choir and auxiliary rock elements.
The album was named by director/filmmaker/artist Mike Mills, whose film Thumbsucker was scored by the band.
