On January the 27th at The Echo in Los Angeles Of Montreal stormed through a fantastic set of their trademark brand of psychedelic-indie-dance-rock pop. Occasionally using a standard physical drum kit as well as sequenced electronic drums, the band brought flash and enthusiam to a variety of styles whether it was more conventional rock, electro-dance or funky pop. Frontman Kevin Barnes had the younger crowd on its feet moving through nearly the duration. Among the songs played were “So Begins Our Alabee,” “Wraith Pinned to the Mist (And Other Games),” “I Was Never Young,” “Forecast Fascist Future” and mxdwn #8 Song of the Year for 2005 “The Party’s Crashing Us” from The Sunlandic Twins as well as “Disconnect the Dots,” “My British Tour Diary,” “Chrissie Kiss The Corpse” and “Lysergic Bliss” from Satanic Panic in the Attic.
