A new bill introduced by Senator Russ Feingold contains a provision that will require radio stations and concert venues to submit monthly reports to the FCC accounting for any “payments or services” received from labels, artists, promoters, etc., as well as the number of plays a song received. Radio stations will also not be able to host concerts without giving the artists due compensation. http://feingold.senate.gov/~feingold/statements/05/11/20051118.html
