With day two of Coachella featuring some big-time guest appearances from artists like A$AP Rocky, Tyler, the Creator, Michael McDonald and Lauryn Hill, the final day of the first weekend has a lot to live up to. While Sunday has not featured nearly as many big names as the middle day of the festival, Pharrell is certainly a good place to start. The enigmatic singer/producer joined Hans Zimmer on stage for a performance of “Freedom.” The song is from 2015 and is not included on either of Pharrell’s proper studio albums.
Hans Zimmer has been busy this year, with his first-ever North American tour announced just a few days ago. The tour began in Southern California with a show at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles and then the two Coachella weekends (with a stop in Las Vegas and one in San Francisco planned for the week in between), then continuing across the country and eventually into Europe and Australia before wrapping up stateside. The legendary film composer is known for his work on movies such as The Lion King, The Dark Knight trilogy, Inception and many more. In fact, according to a live review of the DTLA show by Consequence of Sound, his sets will include songs pulled from over a dozen films.
