Folk rock band The Avett Brothers will be performing at the Greek Theatre on April 29 with support from The Milk Carton Kids. The Avett Brothers combine bluegrass, country, punk, pop melodies, folk, rock and roll, indie rock, honky tonk, and ragtime to produce a novel sound. The band is made up of two brothers, Scott Avett (banjo) and Seth Avett (guitar), as well as Bob Crawford (double bass) and Joe Kwon (cello). Mike Marsh (drums), Tania Elizabeth (violin) and Paul Defiglia (keyboard) are touring members of the band.
In 2013, the band’s “Magpie and the Dandelion” incorporated an edgier rock sound and debuting at No. 5 U.S., pushing the boundaries of what fans expected from the brothers. A single from the album “Morning Sun” was directed by Michael Bonfiglio, check it out here:
