The always eccentric Lady Gaga is getting sued by her ex-boyfriend Rob Fusari, for $30.5 million according to Billboard. Fusari filed the $30.5 million lawsuit in a Manhattan state courtroom on Wednesday, claiming he transformed Stefani Germanotta into Lady Gaga, a name adapted from Queen’s “Radio Ga Ga”. Fusari also co-wrote such hits as “Paparazzi” and “Beautiful, Dirty, Rich,” which would appear on the Grammy-Award winning album The Fame . Fusari also has writing credit for Destiny’s Child and Will Smith.
The lawsuit says Gaga’s and Fusari’s personal and business relationship had soured by the time her album went triple-platinum and he has been denied a 20 percent share of song royalties, 15 percent of merchandising revenue and other money he’s owed. He acknowledges getting checks for about $611,000 but says that isn’t his full share. Lady Gaga’s spokesman, Dave Tomberlin has yet to respond to the recently filed suit.
