Geoff Barrow’s Beak> have released a new song titled “Timeshare.” It will be featured on the soundtrack for the British thriller Couple in a Hole.
While Barrow’s Portishead have not released a full length album since 2008, he has been very busy. In the last year Barrow contributed to Run the Jewels’ Meow the Jewels remix album. He also released a split EP as Beak>, working alongside Ben Salisbury on Ex Machina.
Last week a cover of 99 Red Balloons was released by Invada Allstars to protest against Nuclear Weapons as part of the anti-Trident demo in London. The song was produced by Barrows co-founded label Invada Studios.
His most recent project is creating the soundtrack for the British thriller Couple in a Hole. Directed by Tom Greens, the film features a story about a middle aged couple who escapes from every day society to live in solitude among the wilderness.
“It was a total pleasure to work with Tom on his film,” Barrow said about recording for the film, “And it’s also been great to have so many people support a film that is as unusual and uncompromising as this.”
Beak> offers us a preview with the new single from the film, “Timeshare” to tide us over until the soundtrack hits stores next month.
Couple In a Hole is expected in theaters on April 8th, and soon after the Soundtrack will hit stores as well, making April a month to look forward to.
