Nothing like brother and sister duos, huh? Meet Wild Belle a Chicago-based psychedelic-pop band coming to Bimbo’s Club in May. Formed in 2011, Wild Belle has a debut album titled Isles. The group are quoted saying that each track on the album represents an imaginary island. Dreamland, their sophomore album is due out later this year. The album draws influences from soul, jazz, and reggae genres of music. Natalie Bergman, the lead singer of Wild Belle, says, “I was very heated when we were making this record. My body, my heart and my soul were filled with a flame, which sounds very dramatic but it’s the truth.”
Listening to this band for the first time just today my legitimate first reaction was, “Holy sh%*!” With the fast paced drum beats, cowbell, bass and guitar riffs there’s a 99.9% chance you can’t help but dance to their new single Giving Up On You. Wild Belle’s collaboration with electronic group Major Lazer rose the duo Wild Belle to a new audience. The track Be Together by reached over five million plays on YouTube and joined the U.S. Billboard for Hot Dance/ Electronic Songs. Elliot Bergman, a member of Wild Belle, comments about the upcoming album, “There’s sorrow and pain, but there’s also hope and joy — all those things can coexist in the songs because they coexist in life.” Beautiful words and probably an even more beautiful album will soon be given to the world by Wild Belle.
