TEEN released a new single from their new album, Love Yes. The single “Please” , according to National Public Radio’s comment about the song’s style with its dramatic flair for telling notions of complex relationships, sensuality, and misogyny. So far “Please” is the latest single from the new record.
But what is “Please” all about? In an interview with Lizzie Lieberson and Rookie, she states that the single is about how much time she didn’t have with her father before he passed away. It is a shame to lose any loved one. Lizzie says in her interview that she wrote the song based on what her father would say to her, what Lizzie’s father saw in her, and what would be do without his guidance. Some girls are often close with their fathers and fathers often see their daughters as little princesses, even if they are grown up and live adult lives of their own. The song is also a notion to Lizzie about relationship with herself besides her relationship with her father. The song is an endless question about her dad and herself and the key components of those individual relationships. It is a great memento, however, to someone who cherished you and supported you into doing something you truly find the most passionate about your life. Listen to the song below.
