The Communion Residency at Milkboy is a monthly, multi-genre showcase featuring local, national, and international emerging talents. Philadelphia is one of 9 US cities showcasing these rising acts. And for a great price, you can see a slew of talent next month at Philly’s Milkboy. Past Communion Philly events have featured Marian Hill, Arkells, Sarah Jaffe, DRGN King, Conrad Sewell, Vacationer, and many more.
The upcoming February Communion Philly event will feature live sets from Thee Idea Men, Mothers, LoLo, and Allan Rayman. The event will also showcase a DJ set from XPN’s John Vettese. Headlining the show is Allan Rayman, who hails from Toronto. The upcoming Communion Residency is part of his debut US tour, which he’s dubbed the Hotel Tour. He also recently released a new track, “Lucy the Tease,” which is definitely worth a listen. Take a listen to his album Hotel Allan which dropped this summer. One of the most notable songs from the album is “Graceland.”
But Allan is just one of the great acts attendees can look forward to on February 4th. There will also be music from LoLo, hailing from Tennessee. Most recently she was opening for New Politics and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. And then there’s Mothers, lead by vocalist Kristine Leschper, who created the now-group in 2013 as a solo project. And finally there’s Philadelphia’s own Thee Idea Men, who got their start in 2011. And of course, you should definitely plan to arrive early to catch all of these acts and to hear DJ sets from John Vettese.
