The School of Seven Bells recently released a new song from their final album, SVIIB, “Open Your Eyes.” The final album is more of a collection of works written by Alejandra Deheza and Benjamin Curtis. However in 2013 Curtis passed away, but Deheza continued to complete the album after recording the songs with Curtis shortly before his death that same year.
“Open Your Eyes” is a illuminating track that captures the essence of the band. It is not only a memory written in the song, but it is also the way in which Deheza herself would be able to remember her former bandmate. “Open Your Eyes” is a wonderful song about the loss of someone close and the hopes to move on and discover something new. It is a brilliant piece to the final album. SVIIB will be out in February of next year, fans can pre-order the album on the Vagrant website.
