MS MR released a music video for “Criminals” – a track from their most recent studio album, How Does It Feel. “Criminals” is the third song MS MR have shared from their latest album.
MS MR is a New York based duo of vocalist Lizzy Plapinger and producer Max Hershenow. Plapinger puts her best foot forward singing and ranging from throaty lows to sweet highs. The music video is vibrant, visually addictive with strong choreography intertwined throughout the various scenes.
Just last week, MS MR finished their How Does It Feel headline tour in the U.S., and will immediately kick off the tour’s European leg in Brighton, England at The Arch.
MS MR on “Criminals” video: This video is a reflection on the internal conflict we’ve been facing over the past few months as our indie selves and their pop counterparts fight for creative control of MS MR. We find ourselves in an odd place as a band, having made the personal choice to explore where we might fit in the shiny and seductive pop realm (especially given our ambitious goals), while truthfully still being two art kids locked away in our DIY studio, thriving off our own musical naiveté and thirst to push artistic boundaries. Are we on the right path? Have we come too far? Do we want a way out? When it came to finding a director who could play on these contradictory feelings, we turned to the ultimate pop visionary, Charlotte Rutherford. She created a dark jewel-toned fantasyland that captures our unsettledness in all its forms: frustration and inspiration, confusion and excitement.
