Oh Wonder have announced an upcoming winter tour that will take up most of January. Kicking things off in San Diego on January 12th, the duo will head across the US until they make their way to Philly on the January 26th for a show at Boot & Saddle. This is a great opportunity to see a buzzed about act on a small, intimate stage. And Boot & Saddle is a great venue on top of that!
It was almost a year ago that Billboard named Oh Wonder as one of their Emerging Artists. Since then, several of the pair’s tracks have hit number 1 on Hype Machine. Yet despite over 13 million plays on Soundcloud, the band is still relatively unknown, at least by the mainstream. Part of their allure has been their constant stream of music. They wrote, recorded, and uploaded one song each month since September of last year.
A year later, on September 4th of this year, Josephine Vander Gucht and Anthony West released their self-titled debut album. And they they were off on a UK tour, their first live performances ever. They describe themselves as “two songwriters who write about love, loneliness, London, community, gentrification, and gambling.” And you can catch them when they make their Philly debut this January at Boot & Saddle.
